"Middlesbrough ASC are proud to be associated with Supreme Training. Working on a regular basis with personal trainer Sean McPhillips, our land based program has been designed to be not only sport specific but progressive. Our swimmers have become more educated and body aware around what exercises will correlate to their pool work. Sean's committment to our swimmers has proved successful.
The defined programs have resulted in our athletes not only becoming stronger but more explosive and dynamic. Supreme Training have certainly tailored to the needs of Middlesbrough ASC and have been committed to producing progressive programs which are individual based."
Not many fitness coaches are capable of delivering effective, challenging fitness training which is enjoyable for participants, but Sean has succeeded in doing that for Guisborough rugby club.
Having been asked to come and challenge a full senior squad and get them fit and prepared to continue what had been a successful season, Sean succeeded in really engaging the squad, by providing varied, but equally challenging, activities each week.
The sessions, which involve a wide range of equipment from kettle bells to boxing equipment, are carefully planned and have been carefully designed to suit the sport of rugby.
Members of the squad have commented that “Sean’s sessions are an excellent way to train groups of 20+ rugby players” and “Sean provides great sessions which involve hard work, but work that pays off and, best of all, you’re doing it with your friends”.
Sean’s sessions have proved to be an excellent addition to the coaching provision at Guisborough. His sessions are valued and enjoyed by the squad at all levels, and after fulfilling his provisional 4 week slot the squad as a whole asked for sessions to be continued as they could all see the benefit when it mattered on a Saturday.
Working with Sean at Supreme Training has been a huge benefit to the ladies on our team.
Starting with the Women's Strength Program, Sean made sure that all our ladies knew how to handle the Steel in the gym; from patiently teaching those who had never lifted before to honing the technique of those who had, it certainly gave our players the confidence to pick up the weights and add new but very relevant elements to their workouts.
The girls have been tested, beasted and pushed to the limit with the S&C sessions which have certainly payed dividends out on the field, their football positions are lower, they are certainly more mobile, and we definitely don't tire like the other players do, always having something left in the tank whether it be for one more touchdown or a big hit! It has certainly been noticeable in training, and the Steelers have stood out at Great Britain trials this year!
The sessions are cleverly planned with sport specific exercises designed to push you enough to feel worked but not so that you lose technique or motivation, perfect for American Football, a game that demands highly technical skills and fitness to be maintained for up to 3hrs!
Our Women Of Steel can't wait to compete this summer to put their hard work to the test and hopefully thank Sean with some game winning Touchdowns!
The Middlesbrough Milk Rollers have been working with Sean to complement their on skates training. Roller Derby is a demanding sport utilising both cardio vascular fitness and outright strength, Sean has been working with our Athletes to really develop a strength and conditioning programme which can take them to the next competitive level.
Our Members range from beginners right through to National Squad level Players. Sean has managed to make sessions both enjoyable and beneficial to everyone, no matter what their current fitness level is.
The sessions are planned with sport specific exercises in mind. Not only do these sessions aim to make the Athlete stronger in their chosen area but Sean also helps to highlight common muscular weaknesses in the group training so we are able to really focus on improving technique during our drills back at training.
Sean is also a massive help outside the gym. He is willing to work with you to help improve nutrition and guide you on supplements to improve the quality of your training to help to achieve your own personal goals.
The weekly Team sessions are quickly proving to be a big motivation in getting our players focused and serious about their training. We can’t wait to see what impact this training has on our competitive season this year!
Teesside Skate Invaders joined up with Supreme Training following a recommendation from the girls from Middlesbrough Milk Rollers. Roller Derby is a fast paced and intense sport and requires a great deal of strength and condition training, which with Sean’s input our team has been able to benefit from a professional approach to training.
TSI are a developing team and with a varying range of fitness levels within the group, using Sean’s training we have been able to engage everyone so that training is beneficial development for the individual and for the team.
While individually we all have an active exercise routine, with the help of Supreme Training we have been able to tailor our work out programmes to include Sean’s sport specific exercises which help focus our training as a team.
The weekly sessions are always enjoyable, due to Sean’s friendly approachable nature has helped the team become more involved with the sessions providing support for the others taking part. Sean’s expertise extends from the training schedules, advice to help improve nutrition, the supplements that will complement the training and equipment which can be used at home.
The guys at TSI have already seen personal gains from Sean’s training and the agony from the sessions is certainly paying off and we are confident of the long term gains.
